I agree. "Workmanlike" has always been a viture of the series, or at least was. Trying to do something new with the miserable budget of sixties television with the original. And when they made the leap to movies the fact of it felt out of step with trends in sci fi cinema gave them an odd charm. The director has said several times in interviews that he's not a fan of the original and it shows. The interiors look like an Apple store and the actors have that just off the factory line sheen.
I agree.
In the trailer, most noticeably toward the beginning with the speeding car, there's an audio effect that sounds like a door slamming. It's been used to death throughout the past decade. Now it almost feels retro.
I am a fan of the series and I have one word for this: Ugh.
did I have a Beverly Hills 2010 moment there or was I imagining?
